Dangerous Goods

In order to carry dangerous goods on the ferry service it is a legal requirement to fill out an appropriate declaration of the dangerous goods you intend to carry.  Please click here to download the declaration form.

Workboat Services have a set of guidance notes to assist you with declaring dangerous goods and outlining what is legally possible to carry on the vessel and what is not.  Please click here to download the guidance notes.

If you have a requirement to carry dangerous goods which are not listed or in quantities greater than specified in the guidance notes then please contact the office to discuss other options.

Booking and Payment

In order to travel on the ferry you should make a booking in advance.   Bookings should be made before 4pm on the day before travel. 

Tickets are not required for travel. 

Payment for your crossing should be made in advance where possible, payment cannot be made at the ferry terminal or on the vessel.  Payment can only be made by credit card, bank transfer or cheque.  

Fares for the ferry service are shown below, all fares are based on a return voyage, a single fare is 50% of the return.  These fares were updated on 23 June 2023 and will come into effect from 1st July 2023.

Passenger fares (return)

Adult: £22.80
Child under 16: £11.40
Child under 5: £5.70

Vehicle fares (return)

Vehicle under 6m: £56.90
Trailer under 6m: £56.90
Trailer under 3m: £28.40
Any vehicle over 3500Kg: £34.10 per m to the nearest metre. (includes driver)
Motorbike/Quad bike: £11.40

Payment FAQs

  • WSL reserves the right to charge a fee for late cancellations. 
  • Payment can be made by cash, cheque or direct into the WSL account with Standard Chartered Bank. 
  • Frequent travellers can apply for a credit account with us
  • Unfortunately we cannot accept payment by credit card.
